The entire 23-man Ivory Coast Africa Cup of Nations squad have been given a house worth £34,000, and the same amount in cash, following their triumph.
Ivorian President Alassana Ouattara has made the gesture, as well as six-figure rewards for the country's football federation an the team's technical staff.
In total, the government has shelled out more than £2million in celebration of the victory.
The Ivorians beat Ghana in the final, but it wasn't all bad news for Ghana's players, who were also rewarded financially.
The team's sponsor, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, gave each player £16,000, a figure the country's sports minister, Mahama Ayariga, thinks it a little low.
"For those who think that GNPC rewarding the boys with $25,000 is too generous, I wish they were in the stadium," he said.
"Then they will know whether $25,000 is worth that kind of experience. I don't even think it is enough."
The tournament was marred by the crowd trouble which occurred in the semi-final involving Ghana, in which they beat last-minute hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0.
