When is the AFCON final? Everything you need to know ahead of African football's showpiece event

After three weeks of goals, saves and a huge dose of controversy, the final of the Africa Cup of Nations is almost upon us.
The run up to the tournament was overshadowed by Morocco's decision to pull out of hosting the competition due to the Ebola outbreak.
Equatorial Guinea stepped up to the plate, but the stand-in hosts were part of chaotic scenes in the second semi-final, where they were soundly beaten by Ghana.
The Ivory Coast overcame DR Congo in the other semi, and will maintain their tag as pre-tournament favourites ahead of the final.

When is the AFCON final?

The Africa Cup of Nations final will take place at 19.00 on Sunday 8 February.
The game will be shown on Eurosport and ITV4, but if you can't get close to a television, you'l be able to follow all the action LIVE with MirrorFootball.

Who is involved?

The game will take place between the Ivory Coast and Ghana, who both won their respective semi-finals.
The Ivory Coast beat DR Congo 3-1, with Yaya Toure scoring the opener for the Ivorians.
Ghana beat Equatorial Guinea 3-0, in a match that was marred by crowd trouble from supporters of the host nation.
