Lionel Messi Closing Gap On Cristiano Ronaldo

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is closing the gap on Cristiano Ronaldo on the Spanish goal scoring charts.
The Argentine was once again the main man in his side’s 5-2 win over Atheltic Bilbao, and has now scored 22 league goals this season.
But despite a run of only two goals in six La Liga games – including the two he missed due to suspension – Ronaldo is still leading the race with 28 strikes.
However, the gap between Ronaldo and Messi has melted down to just six goals.
At the beginning of 2015, the Portuguese still had a 13-goal advantage over his long-standing rival, but his recent dip in form, and Messi’s revival, have brought the two closer together.
While Ronaldo only scored two league goals in 2015, Messi has already netted nine times in only six La Liga games.
Messi’s resurgence followed Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad, and alleged fall-out between Luis Enrique and the superstar.
Ever since, the Catalan giants have won nine games and are now within just one point of league leaders Real Madrid.
Los Blancos face Deportivo La Coruna and Elche in their upcoming two league games – opponents, which they smashed 8-2 and 5-1 in the first half of the season.
Ronaldo scored an impressive seven goals in these two fixtures, and his side need him back to his best to overcome their recent mini-crisis.
