Unimpressed: Van Gaal wasn't pleased with United's display
Louis van Gaal has admitted he 'didn't like' Manchester United's performance as they beat Burnley 3-1.
Chris Smalling's first half double patched over an uncertain display from the Red Devils in the first period, where they were outshot 10-3 by the Clarets.
Burnley could only convert once though, with Liverpool target Danny Ings finding the net again. He could have doubled his tally shortly after the break, but was thwarted by David De Gea.
A late Robin van Persie penalty sealed the deal for Van Gaal's side, but the Dutch boss wasn't over enamored with his side's display.
He said: "I didn't like this performance today. Of course, we have won and the result is fantastic.

"But after this match you cannot say that we are going up and I want to progress every match.
“We cannot have that in the next game, because then we will be out of the FA Cup.”
Phil Jones was replaced by Smalling after only five minutes, and Daley Blind also left the field in the first half.
Van Gaal is confident Blind will be available for United's FA Cup fifth round tie with Preston on Monday, but has concerns over Jones' fitness.
"Daley Blind has a headache and maybe tomorrow it is better," he continued. "I don't think Blind will be out for next Monday's game.
