The Toon captain was struck just inches from his eye during last night's game against Crystal Palace - and the FA are now set to investigate
Newcastle’s angry caretaker boss John Carver hit out at the Crystal Palace thug who throw a coin at Fabricio Coloccini - claiming it could have BLINDED his player.
The Toon captain was celebrating Papiss Cisse's goal during last night's clash at Selhurst Park when he was struck by the coin just inches from his eye.
The FA are now set to investigate the incident.
Carver fumed: “It just can’t happen can it? It takes one idiot to throw an coin, I have seen it and it misses Colo’s eye by an inch – another inch and it could blind him.
“It has got to be taken out of the game. What is disappointing from their point of view is that they have an unbelievable crowd here, an unbelievable atmosphere – it is a fanatical group of supporters in that corner.
“I hope the authorities deal with it and I’m sure they will because it will be on TV every other minute and rightly so. Let’s find out who it was and sort it out.”
