Is Cristiano Ronaldo’s Form Affecting Real Madrid?

We have seen Real Madrid drop points and dip in form since the start of the New Year, but is Cristiano Ronaldo's drop in form the reason?
The Real Madrid forward has seen his own form slide since the start of 2015, and he has only registered four goals in the club's last nine matches.
By Ronaldo’s extremely high standards, this has been poor - especially if you think how he started the season.
The Portuguese was unstoppable at the start of the campaign, hammering in 29 goals in all competitions (UFEA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and La Liga) a record that saw him lift his third FIFA Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo’s drop in form started around the time of the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco, as he failed to score in either of his side’s matches - yet they still lifted the trophy.
There has been talk that he started feeling discomfort in his knee again while in Morocco. This is no new injury for the star, as it has been hindering him for a couple of years now.
The 30-year-old has only scored four goals since January, three in La Liga and one in the Copa del Rey (compared to 10 in September, and eight in October), but he has only played in six of Madrid’s nine matches.
It’s quite clear that the three-time Ballon d’Or winner has not quite been the same since the start of the year, and his personal form could very well be putting strain on a side that relied on him so heavily in the opening half of the season.
