The 19-year-old was thrust straight into the starting line-up for the Merseyside derby and came closest to scoring as his stunning shot came back of the post
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers heaped praise on winger Jordon Ibe after his fine display in Saturday's Merseyside derby.
The dour Goodison clash ended in a stalemate but Ibe was one bright spark, smashing a stunning drive against Joel Robles' post on just his second start for the Reds.
After impressing on loan at Derby, he was recalled to Anfield and Rodgers was in no doubt the 19-year-old was ready for Premier League football.
"Jordon Ibe is a big talent, I was debating whether to keep him here in the summer but I felt it was important to get him out and play and feel the pressure," said the Liverpool boss.
"He did a great job with Steve McClaren at Derby and we knew he'd be ready to play in the team. With a bit more luck he would have got a goal tonight. He puts a shift in and he's only going to get better."
The point at Goodison leaves Liverpool four points adrift of the top four while Everton remain 12th, having picked up their third clean sheet in a row.
And boss Roberto Martinez admitted that while he is happy with his side's defensive improvements, he wants them to offer more of an attacking threat.
"We want to get better in every department. It's important to keep clean sheets but in the same manner we want to create and score goals.
"I thought today was an interesting tactical battle on the pitch. We both had our turns in charge of the game.
"You could see that one goal would do it for either side. I am extremely satisfied with the performance."
