Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic left out of Champions League squad for knockout stages

New signing Wilfried Bony has replaced the Montenegro international, as the Blues prepare for their last 16 clash with Barcelona

Omitted: Jovetic has been left out in favour of Bony
Stevan Jovetic has been confirmed as Manchester City's fall-guy in the Champions League.
Jovetic has made way for £28million new signing Wilfried Bony, with the the Montenegro international's City future now looking increasingly bleak.
The Blues were forced to submit a reduced squad of 21 as part of a UEFA-imposed punishment for the club breaching its Financial Fair Play rules.
Jovetic, a £22m buy from Fiorentina, has started only 18 games in 19 months at City, his time with the Premier League champions having been blighted by injury.
At one stage it looked as though defender Bacary Sagna was going to be sacrificed to comply with UEFA, but the addition of Bony last month has seen Jovetic culled.
