Neymar Says Lionel Messi Is His Hero
Brazilian forward Neymar believes that his understanding with teammate Lionel Messi has gotten stronger in recent months and says that the Argentine is his "hero".
The pair have scored a combined total of 54 goals in 56 matches so far this season for the Catalan giants.
Neymar insisted that playing alongside the world’s best makes things easier on the park, and believes the improved understanding between two is now starting to bare fruit.
"I feel very happy. It’s been easy to play alongside Leo and he is one of my heroes," Neymar said at a promotional event in Qatar.
"Our understanding on the pitch just keeps getting better and better."
Neymar joined Barcelona in 2013 from Brazilian club Santos, which is currently the subject of a lot of controversy.
The club recently denied any wrong doing in his transfer, but the club may need to go to court over alleged tax fraud surrounding the transfer.
Neymar has scored 22 goals in 26 appearances for the club so far this season, and has assisted in seven more.
