It could well be another difficult night for Roberto Martinez in the blue corner against a side looking capable of a top 4 finish

Earlier in the season, I expressed some concern about Brendan Rodgers’ hit-and-miss record in the transfer market at Liverpool.
It is true that Mario Balotelli has been a flop, and the jury is out on several other recruits.
But Lazar Markovic has improved massively since his red card against Basel in the Champions League, while Emre Can – another Rodgers signing who was struggling to live up to expectation – was outstanding at Bolton in Wednesday’s FA Cup replay.
With Daniel Sturridge back from injury, and Raheem Sterling restored to last season’s level of consistency, a top-four finish is by no means out of Rodgers’ reach.
Wherever they finish in May, I fancy Liverpool to win the Merseyside derby againstEverton this weekend.
If Saturday's match is anywhere near as good as the 3-3 draw at Goodison last season, we are in for a classic.

Liverpool have some wind in their sails at last.
It could well be another difficult night for Roberto Martinez in the blue corner.
